Fitted inside the top of the firebox, the deflector plate controls the flow of hot gases before they enter the flue. By increasing the path the gases travel, it helps improve combustion efficiency, retain more heat within the stove and protects the flue outlet from direct flame exposure.
As it is constantly subjected to extreme temperatures, the deflector plate is a wear-and-tear component and will gradually deteriorate with normal use. Replacing a worn or damaged baffle plate helps ensure your Fennek 50 continues to burn efficiently and performs as intended.
