As it’s exposed to the elements, the surface develops a rich, warm patina — a deep, textured finish that gives Corten steel its unmistakable character.
This isn’t wear and tear — it’s a natural transformation. Every piece is identical in build, but the protective patina that develops on the surface of the metal will be unique to the conditions in your garden. Typically the steel gradually weathers within 2–4 months, creating a protective outer layer that enhances both durability and appearance.
The BloX is designed to store a convenient, day-to-day supply of firewood and kindling close to your outdoor stove. It’s ideal for keeping everything within arm’s reach, rather than acting as a full bulk storage solution.
The BloX is manufactured from CorTen steel, a durable outdoor material that develops a protective, weathered patina over time, eliminating the need for painting or maintenance.
It’s supplied in its raw steel state so it can naturally develop its signature patina once installed. During this initial weathering process, some runoff may occur, so it’s best to place it on a suitable surface or allow for drainage until the finish stabilises.
Yes. An optional hardwood top is available, allowing the BloX to double as a bench—adding both function and comfort to your outdoor space.
The open design promotes airflow, helping logs stay dry and properly seasoned. For best results, it should be used alongside a larger covered logstore for long-term storage.
